Care & Healing

You’ve just been tattooed by a licensed professional using modern sterile tools in a clean atmosphere. It is now up to you to keep the tattoo clean and healthy while it is healing. Please follow these suggestions and you should not have any problems with your new tattoo.

  • Leave the bandage on for ** hours. If your tattoo is large or done late in the evening, leave the bandage on overnight.
  • When you remove the bandage wash your tattoo gently using just your hand – never use a washcloth, loofa or scrubber. Use a MILD unscented, fragrance free soap. We recommend Dove or Ivory. Castille soap is the best if you can find it.
  • Use warm water, lather and clean hands first. Then lather and gently wash the tattoo, rising well to remove any drierd matter or remaining blood. Make sure tattoo is squeaky clean. Let it air dry for 10–20 minutes. Then apply a very small amount of unscented hand lotion. We recommend Keri or Curel you may also use cocoa butter lotion.
  • Continue to wash and moisturize your tattoo AT LEAST three times a day until the scab is gone. Wash tattoo with warm water and antibacterial soap until tattoo is fully healed.
  • Do not pick or scratch at your tattoo.
  • Avoid soaking the tattoo underwater.
  • Do not expose new tattoo to sunlight.
  • Any questions or concerns please call or stop by the shop.
  • If you think your tattoo is showing signs of infection please call the shop then contact a physician.
